Woman get paid less, calculated by looking the average earnings of men and woman by sector and then comparing the difference this is known as the "Gender Pay Gap". For example, in 2018 BBC published an article that said "78% of companies pay men more than woman"

Nation-wide median pay for woman is 14.3% less than mens in 2023.
This is despite the equalities act outright prohibitting unequal pay.
