A persons place in a medieval society was saved by the feudal system; The king was at the top then the lords and the knights and finally the peasants who were serfs. The Lord’s land was called a manor which comprised of The Manor house for the Lord, large grazingfield and small houses for peasants. There was also a church for the local priest. Lastly there was a mill for grinding wheat to make bread.
Peasants also known as serfs worked for the Lord’s sixdays a week farming the Lord’s Land in exchange for a cottage and also provide food for the family. They weren’t able to leave the manor or get married without the Lord’s permission. The serfs lived in a cottage in the manor, it was made out of wattle and daub,it was only one room and it was very cramped. At times animals were kept in the cottage to keep it warm and ensure the safety of the serfs.
Religion was very important during the middle ages. Each village will have a church and serfs would have to pay a tithe, which was a 10th of their income to the local priest. They did this because they believe that life is short and difficult and that life would be better after death.

One of the biggest killers was the bubonic plague, which was a very contagious disease that killed over one third of Europes population. The plague was created via rats on ships from Black Sea.
In conclusion the medieval times was a time where people lived in harsh conditions and health and medicine wasn’t advanced and it was when people were working excessive hours to get by.
