Graham technique
Based on "contraction and release", uses different parts of the body in opposition to one another to create spirals for dramatic tension. Incorporates formal exaggerations of "natural" movements.
Cunningham technique
Looks a bit like ballet—with the same turned-out position of the legs, quick footwork, and strong spine—but also differs in many ways. Utilizes the torso, bending sideways, forward and backward, and holds balances for long periods.
