Brazil

• Brazil is the largest country in South America. It lies in the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is mainly situated in the southern hemisphere and is very close to the equator. This means that the weather conditions are very hot and humid.
• In recent years there has been an increase in deforestation due to logging, farming and mining activities. Deforestation destroys habitats and causes soil erosion. As well as this, it also releases large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere causing global warming.
