• JPEG - most web friendly image format. low quality , small size
• GIF - worst format for web graphics. zmall file size, great for clipart
• TIFF - print graphics. best and only choice for print, ability to store high pixel quality
• PNG - small file size, good quality, best for transparent images
• BMP - files are large and uncompress, quality images, also called raster or paint images
