  • In developed countries (Rich North) young people often have more educational opportunitie. Their education System is great, they can learn and explore a wide range of subjects – degrees. They often have advanced schools and universities to have libraries and use digital technology in studies.
  • On the other hand developing countries (Poor South) don’t have a lot of educational opportunities. In some cases only male children are sent to school and females stay at home to work. Post primary education is not always accessible. Their access to technology is limited distemper post primary education is not always accessible. Their access to technology is limited this can prevent them from accessing types of information.
  • 3rd level education is not always pursued in the south as some people lack Post primary education this makes job opportunities Limited.
  • If long-term development aid is provided to a country like Mali, in terms of education of women empowerment the population will fall. it will fall because girls and women have access to education, this will cause the delay in marriage and childbirth. Women often get married really young in developing countries. Women will also have access to information of the reproductive health this will reduce the birth rate as they have insight on contraceptive methods. Women will also be able to work as their levels of education have increased.
  • Reason for Low literacy rates : Debt. Many LEDCs are in debt to foreign banks as a result of spending by corrupt governments on items such as military equipment and arms. Investment should be placed in training and upskilling teachers and reducing class sizes. In places like Burkina Faso only 34.6% of the population can read and write. Investment in education would improve this.
  • Reason 2: Corruption. In many countries in the South, money that should be spent on education is spent on arms and war, e.g., in Sudan and South Sudan. This lack of spending on education means that literacy rates are low. Countries in the developed world have excellent literacy rates (98.3% in Spain, 99.0% in Switzerland) because they invest heavily in education, which is funded by taxation, which is enabled by a high gross national income.
  • High-tech industries use advanced technology and the most modern equipment and ICT (information and communications technology). Many high-tech industries are currently doing research and development on virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
