• Chromosomes are made up of DNA that is made up of section of genes
• DNA - the blueprint of life
• How traits passed down?

  • Traits information is located within an organism's genes
  • Genes are passed down to their offspring during reproduction
• Reproduction - The process of how living things produce offspring
• Two Types of Reproduction

  • Sexual
  • Asexual
• Sexual - offspring inherited half of both their parents trait information. Genetically Distinct.
• Asexual - only requires one parent. Exact copy of the parent.
• Heredity - the transmission of traits from one generation to another.
• Genetics - The study of heredity and variations.

• Genotype - genetics make up
• Homozygous - Alleles are identical
• Heterozygous - Alleles are not identical
• Law of Segregation - all pair of genes for an organism separate from each other during gamete formation
