  • FABER (4) (flexion ABduction and External Rotation)
    Hip provocation test - Labral tears
    + = Pain reproduction in hip and groin and if knee remains above opposite hip
  • GLUTEAL TENDON LOAD
    Gluteal tendinopathy and Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome
    + = Reproduction of symptoms/pain at the greater trochanter
  • FADDIR (flexion ADDuction and Internal Rotation)
    Hip provocation test - Labral tears
    + = Pain reproduction in hip and groin
  • QUADRANT/SCOUR TEST
    Hip provocation test - Labral tears
    + = Pain reproduction in hip and groin/Irregular sensations/Pt apprehension
  • ADDUCTOR SQUEEZE
    Adductor muscle strength/Tendinopathy or enthesopathy
    + = Pain reproduction in the groin. Reduction in strength between sides and positions
  • OBERS TEST (Over)
    TFL/ITB strength
    Unable to reach into neutral when adducted or requires internal femur rotation to return to neutral
  • THOMAS TEST
    Differentiates between tightness of the anterior hip capsule/iliopsoas/rectus femoris and ITB/TFL
    + = Thigh does not reach the level of the bed, straighten knee. If leg drops indicates Rec fem restriction. If leg still does not drop, allow the leg to abduct slightly. if leg drops indicates ITB/TFL restriction. If leg remains high. Restriction is likely due to anterior capsule/iliopsoas
  • ELY'S TEST
