• P - stanza 4 elaborates on the ... character of the war photographer. the stanza shows that although his jib captures peoples suffering and pain , it doesn't have the same effect on the public as it should.
• E - this can be seen in the lines ' a hundred agonies in black and white ... pick out five or six '. the metaphor ' a hundred agonies ' represents the countless amount of photos that where taken holding the moral pain of many.
• L - this demonstrates the war photographers .. character as he captures many key moments in time filled with horror' but the public have lost empathy.
• E - Duffy created contrast through the idea that a hundred photos where captured but only 'five or six' are presented to the public. this emphasises the thought that people have became desensitized to such an important topic as the photographer is capturing so many real moments' but only few are deemed worthy of the paper.
