• Recurrence of the plague from the black death
• Believed causes:

  • Cats and dogs
  • Punishment from God
  • Unbalanced Humours
  • Miasma
  • Supernatural
• Prevention:

  • Quarantine
  • Areas of crowding were closed
  • Not touching each other
  • Graves away from houses
  • Cats and dogs were killed
