• Scientists found that around 90% of cases of lung cancer can be linked to tobacco smoking as it became popular during WW1

• Due to the link between lung cancer and smoking the government have created campaigns to reduced smoking. They have also banned cigarette adverts, put health warnings on packages, put a ban on smoking in public places and overall discouraged smoking.
