    Cards (16)

    • The suitable IV ranges have...
      1. 5 values
      2. Cover suitable range
      3. Evenly spaced
    • Where to look for information?
      1. Background information
      2. Table
    • Worst fit - best fit
    • Best fit + or - difference
    • Comparison State for Y-intercept and X value: If the THEORETICAL VALUE fits into the range given by the graph.
    • For the graph you will NEED:
      1. Vertical error bars
      2. Regression Line
      3. Symbols matching the title
      4. Optional regression line WITH equation!
    • Uncertainty range is the range of possible values for a variable of measurement
    • Questions to ask yourself when analysing repeat trials in an investigation
      1. Have they achieved concordant results?
      2. For this, investigation how much time would it take to complete 1 trial?
    • Repeat trials are done to improve precision
    • Short amount of time (less than a day) do as many trials as you need to get (3) similar results.
    • Longer amount of time (more than 1 day) at least 5 trials to allow for some results to be discarded if they are not consistent.
    • How do we compare data?
      % difference = measure value-expected value/expected value *100%
    • Expected value = Theotrical value
    • An outlier is a data point that is different from the pattern of data
    • Outlier: Significant difference from the major trend line
    • Outliers compare to graph, table or conculsion
