• Workspace

  • A user-customized interface in a program that caters to the user’s individual preferences.
• Workspace menu

  • This is where you can access the options to create your own custom workspace.
• Options in workspace menu:

  1. Show page
  2. Show panel
  3. Layout presets
• Show page

  • allows you to toggle on and off the different pages in DaVinci Resolve.
• Show panel

  • allows you to toggle on and off certain panels
• Layout presets

  • allows you to save how you set up your tool.
• Cinematic bars

  • the simplest way to add cinematic bars is by cropping. On the edit page , select the clip and open the inspector
• Freeze frame

  • a still image or frame within a video
• Keyframes

  • important point in the video

  • the black bars on the top and bottom of a video
• Keyframes can be created using diamond shaped buttons
• Create Freeze frame

  1. Select the blade edit mode found on the timeline
  2. Click on playhead
  3. press the right arrow key to move playhead
  4. Click on selection mode button > tick the box that says freeze frame & click on change to save the changes
• Three common types of audio

  2. Sound effect - used to enhance production quality
  3. Background music - a musical track
