Breathless Patient extra

• dyspnoea is the subjective feeling of breathlessness
• Respiratory rate should be between 12 and 15
• SaO2 should be from 94% to 98%
• Respiratory failure

  • type 1 = low o2 and normal co2
  • type 2 = low o2 and high co2
• Teach patients to do breathing control whilst in positions of ease to prevent hyperventilation and promote relaxation
