cells

Cards (13)

  • what is the nucleus?
contains genetic material, and controls activities of the cell
  • what is mitochondria and its function?
these are where most of the reactions for aerobic respirations take place. respiration transfers energy.
  • what is the cytoplasm and its function?
gel like substance where most of the chemical reactions happen, it contains enzymes.
  • what is the cell membrane and its function?
holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out.
  • what are ribosomes and their function?
these are where proteins are made in the cell
  • what is the cell wall?
made of cellulose, it supports the cell and strengthens it.
  • what is the permanent vacuole?

contains cell sap, a weak solution of sugar and salts.
  • what are chloroplasts and its function?
these are where photosynthesis occurs, which makes food for the plant. they contain a green substance called chlorophyll which absorbs light needed for photosynthesis.
  • what does an animal cell contain?
nucleus, mitochondria, cytoplasm, cell membrane, ribosomes.
  • what does a plant cell contain?
rigid cell wall, permanent vacuole, nucleus, chloroplasts, mitochondria, cell membrane, cytoplasm
  • what the similarities of a plant cell and an animal cell?

    nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, mitochondria
  • what does a plant cell have that an animal cell doesn't?

    cell wall, vacuole, chloroplasts
  • what are bacterial cells made up of?
single circular strand of DNA, plasmids, cell membrane, cell wall, cytoplasm.
