German Objections

• War Guilt Clause was hated by German public
• German people felt the treaty was forced on them,and they were not allowed to negotiate any terms
• 13% of land was lost to other countries so 6 million people were no longer living in Germany
• German people felt vulnerable
• Kaiser had been forced to abdicate before the treaty was signed,uncertainty how the country would run. Felt Kaiser was responsible for the war had been punished,so no further punishment needed.
• Been told they were winning the war,so felt they'd been stabbed in the back by the government. Those who signed the Armistice were called the November Criminals
• The people were starving due to Anglo naval blockades,so little food had been imported. Did not know how they would cope with the punishments they were facing
