fast involuntary response of an effector due to stimulation of a sense organ
Reflex arc:
neuron pathway that causes reflexaction, the functional unit of the nervous system
Reflex goes to spinal cord so that the reaction is immediate, it wouldn't be if the impulse went to the brain then muscles, also then it is unconscious
Simple reflex:
information doesn't go to the brain, it is involuntary fast and protects from harm
involved in maintaining constant internal environment (homeostasis)\
Conditioned reflex:
prior thought and learning teaches the body to respond unconsciously
