  1. autocratic- where mangers make decisions themselves, useful for unskilled staff but can demotivate
  2. paternalistic- softer form of authoritarian. Consults staff before making decisions, persuasion
  3. democratic- encourages staff involvement, delegates
  4. laissez faire- weak leadership style, hands off approach

  there are different types of decision making:

  1. scientific
  2. hunch
