antibiotic resistance

• Certain antibiotics arent affective against certain bacteria due to being overused so they are now RESISTANT
• bacteria has evolved to become stronger against antibiotics
• people use antibiotics for virus even thouhjt antibiotics cant fight against VIRUS
• Steps of antibiotic resistance:

  1. colony bacteria in body.
  2. antibiotics given to kill bacteria
  3. bacteria has random mutation in DNA
  4. results in bacteria being resistant (less affective to antibiotic).
  5. resistant bacteria SURVIVES and REPLICATES (new colony w resistance )
  6. bacteria can be passed into others with same antibiotic .

  7. new antibiotic is used but some bacteria can be resisted to that aswell
• After bacteria is resistant to new antibiotic it will create new colony and PROCESS REPEATS
• Lots of antibiotics are given to healthy animals to prevent health defects
• Most common area of antibacteria resistance is in FARMING
• antibiotics given to animal to make them grow
• To fix problem we need to develop new antibiotics
• To fix problem we need to take antibiotics for full prescription and not use for VIRUS
• Tonnes of antibiotics are use every year and they are needed alot
• antibiotics kill infective bacteria in cells
