Mrs Birling is not a stereotypical female character for that time as she has her own charity that she built for herself which was uncommon as women would usually stay home and cook and clean and look after the children
Edna and Eva are mistreated by the males in the story (other than Inspector Goole) because they are women and were seen as being below men
Eva was said to have said too much which is in Mr Birlings opinion a reason to sack her which shows the prejudice towards women from men as this was such an unfair way to think about her character just because she is a woman
