The respiratorysystem function is to obtain o2 from atmospheric air and deliver it to the blood so the cardiovascular system can distribute it to all of our cells
At the end of the repiratory passages are the tiny airsacs called alveoli. This is where gas exchange occurs
Gas exchange once the air with lots os arrives in the alveoli, it can diffuse through into a nearby capillary
Ventilation will depend on both how fast and how deep our breathing is
During expiration decreasing the volume which increases the pressure inside the thoracic cavity means that the air flows out
During inspiration an increase volume we have a decrease in pressure and air flows into the lungs
Bradypnoea refers to slow breathing
Low oxygenation is referred to hypoxaemia
Hyperventilation means fast breathing
Hypotension means low blood pressure
Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs
