• Physical Abuse


  • The most common type of abuse that occurs when a child suffers physical harm involving the intentional use of physical force that results in or has the potential to result in physical injury
• Emotional Abuse


  Also known as psychological or verbal abuse, it is a bit difficult to define sometimes and occurs when a child experiences continued emotional mistreatment
• Sexual Abuse


  • A form of sexual activity or contact between an adult or older individual and a child, which happens when parents and caregivers fail to protect the rights of their child
• Signs of Sexual Abuse


  • Physical injuries in the genital or anal area, sudden changes in behavior, nightmares, or other symptoms of trauma

• Neglect


  • The failure to provide for a child's basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, medical care, education, or emotional support

  • Malnutrition, poor hygiene, frequent absences from school, untreated medical conditions, or lack of supervision
