  • Sexism - To be inclusive of all people in general references, one should favor gender-neutral words and phrases over gender-biased words.

  • Neutral words - should also be chosen over words with “man” and “woman”.

  • Class discrimination or classism - is a form of prejudice against a person or people because of their social class.
  • Conyo - is used to describe young people from the upper class who speak an idiosyncratic mix of English and Tagalog, connotes vanity and consciousness about social status.
  • Jologs or Jejemon - is used to describe persons who look poor and out of style.
  • The upper class = the owning class
  • Girls = under 18
  • Disabilities - people with dysfunctions do not want to be pitied, feared, or ignored, or seen as heroic or extraordinary.
  • Arinto, 2009 - When referring to people with disabilities, the focus should be on the person, not the condition.
  • Positive Visuals - Avoid situations that consistently show members of any groups as superior or inferior.
  • Cartoons – whether animated or still, easily contribute to bias communication since much humor is even based on sexual and racial stereotypes.
  • Realistic Features - Asian skin is not bright yellow; shades of brown or tan are more realistic. People are varied in shape and size.
  • Avoid Ageism - Integrates ages in visual, showing older people with more than contemporaries or little children.
