• biological anthropology - study on how human adapts to the different earth environments
• linguistic anthropology - study of man's ability to communicate

• non material culture - ideas created by members of the society
• material culture - physical things
• enculturation - done through observation, language use, environmental adaptation, rituals, formal and informal education
• ways in which culture may manifest itself to people - symbols, heroes, rituals, values
• symbols - words, gestures, pictures, objects that have recognized or accepted in particular culture
• heroes - persons from past or present who have characteristics that are important to culture. they may be real or fictitious
• rituals - activities participated in by group of people for the fulfillment of desired objectives
• values - the core of every culture
