      all aspects of the study is scrutinised by a small group of 2/3 experts in the same field of research, they should be objective and unknown to the researcher .

      -to allocate research funding
      -to validate the quality and relevance of the work
      -to suggest amendments or improvements
      -establish validity and accuracy
    • Evaluation
      -Blind and double blind processes used to gain a more honest appraisal and avoid bias. They can use their anonymity to criticise researchers who they might be in competition with.
