  • Simple Random Sampling is when everyone is equally likely to be selected from every group.
  • Systemic Sampling is where everyone is allocated a number and every kth person is selected ie. every 5th person.
  • Stratafied Sampling is a random sampling technique where members of each group are randomly sampled so that each group is fairly represented ie. equal number of male and females.
  • Quota sampling is when you stop sampling a certain group after a quota is reached and therefore is not random ie. stop receiving responses from men after 30 men answer.
  • Convenience Sampling is when you survey anyone you find and is not random.
  • A statistic is of a sample
  • A parameter is of a population
  • Continuous quantitative data has unlimited values.
  • Discrete quantitative data has limited values.
  • A population encompasses everyone whilst a sample encompasses data measured.
