  • leg abducts and swings around instead of hip flexion during swing phase - circumduction - common in patients past stroke!
  • need around 27 degrees of hip flexion - lack of ROM
  • impaired heel strike - foot drop

  • check the individual - fear etc - previous injury
  • did pts have a stroke

  • 6mwt measuring correct gait
  • functional gait assessment

  • barrier on the sides during swing phase, cant pass the barriers i.e. cant abduct
  • sticker markings on the floor for heel strike area - must place heel on each sticker

  • Progression:
  • do treatment in continuous gait
  • add turns
  • remove markers
