• Structure of a vertebra

  • Consists of an anterior vertebral body and a posterior vertebral arch
  • Typical vertebrae consist of a vertebral body, a vertebral arch, and seven processes

  • Bony cage enclosing vital human organs, formed by the sternum, ribs and vertebral column
  • 12 pairs of ribs divided into: True ribs (7), False ribs (3), Floating ribs (2)
