Labor Requirements for Land Preparation
1. Plowing to loosen or turn the soil before sowing seed or planting using tractor or animals
2. Clearing of the land using hoe to remove the native vegetation for agricultural purposes
3. Harrowing using hand tractor to pulverize soil, break-up crop residues, uproot weeds, and cover seeds
4. Preparation of furrow to create in soil for water to flow
5. Trellis preparation to support and display climbing plants especially shrubs
6. Mulching to cover the soil between plants with layer of material to prevent water evaporation, protect from wind, rain, and sun and suppress weed growth
7. Digging holes to reduce the need for labor during the actual planting
