Test for lipids

  • Food sample
  • Test tube
  • Ethanol
  • Distilled water
• Step 1

  1. Add a few cm° of ethanol to the food sample.
• Step 2

  1. Pour this mixture into a test tube of equal volumes of distilled water.
• Step 3

  1. If lipids are present, a white emulsion is formed on the surface of the mixture.
