Characters
are the people, animals, or aliens in the story.
Protagonist
The main character in a story, the story is usually written about.
Antagonist
A person that opposes or fights against another character usually the protagonist.
Flat Character
They are usually the extras in the story.
Static Character
These characters never change even from the begining to the end of the story.
Round Characters
Fully developed characters, they are prone to change.
Plot
Series of events and actions that occur in a story.
Exposition
the beginning of the story.
Rising Action
events become more complicated and the author introduces the conflict.
Climax
turning point, the most intense moment.
Falling Action
all action that follows the climax, during which time the situation begins to resolve itself or draw to a close.
Resolution
the final outcome.
Conflict
the opposition of forces or characters.
Flashback
shows the past event which causes the story or event to happen.
Foreshadowing
shows hints of a future event that will happen because of the present story of event.
Resolution
the ending of the story. It could be a happy ending, tragic, open minded or lack of or partial resolution.
Setting
refers to when and where the story happened.
Theme
center or main idea of the story.
