  • Personal Pronouns - short word we use as a simple substitute for the proper name of a person.
  • Examples of Personal Pronouns are I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us, and them
  • Interrogative Pronouns - is used to ask questions.
  • Examples of Interrogative Pronouns are who, whom, whose, which, what.
  • Demonstrative Pronouns - is used to point out the person or the thing referred to.
  • Examples of Demonstrative Pronouns are this, that, these, those.
  • Indefinitive Pronouns - is used to point out person, places or things less clearly than demonstratives do.
  • Examples of Indefinitive Pronouns are each, either, neither, one, none, some, other, another, few, all, many, several, both.
  • Compound Pronouns - are formed by adding -self or -selves to some of the simple personal pronouns.
  • Examples of Compound Pronouns are myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, themselves.
  • Reflexive - compound pronouns that refers back to the subject of the sentence.
  • Intensive - compound pronouns that are used for emphasis.
  • Relative Pronouns - are not only pronouns but also connecting words.
  • Examples of Relative Pronouns are who, whom, whose, which, that.
  • Examples of Compound Relative Pronouns are whichever, whoever, whomever, whatever.
