  • An angioma is formed by a group of blood vessels that dilate and form tumorlike mass. The port wine birthmark is a typical angioma.
  • Spider angiomas also called telangiectases are made up of tiny dilated veins that spread outward with a spiderlike appearance
  • A basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer arising in the basal layer of the epidermis. These type of tumors are commonly found on the face and trunk
  • Squamous cell carcinoma begins in the epidermis and produces a firm, nodular (knot-like) lesion covered with a crust or a central ulceration.
  • Malignant Melanoma is a cancer that arises from the melanocytes (pigment cells) of the skin and its underlying structures.
  • Three types of malignant melanoma:
    • Superficial spreading melanoma
    • Nodular melanoma
    • Lentigo maligna melanoma
