Skill-related fitness components: Speed , Agility, Balance, Coordination, reactiontime, Power
Speed- This is how long it takes for an individual or an object to travel a certain distance
Speed = Distance/Time
3 Main Types of SPEED- Accelerative ,Pure, SpeedeEndurance
•Accelerative Speed – the speed with which you startmovingfaster, which is seen in sprints of up to 30 meters.
•Pure Speed – yourmaximumspeed, which is seen in sprints of up to 60 meters.
•Speed Endurance – being able to maintainyourmaximumspeed or near your maximum speed for a period of time, which is seen during sprints with short recovery periods in between.
Agility- Is the ability of a sports player to move and changedirectionquickly, precisely without a significant loss of speed, balance, or body control
Agility is critical in any sport that requires rapid changes in direction, deceleration, and acceleration.
Agility has both movement and reactiveelements

Power- Is the ability to move the body parts swiftly while applying the maximumforce of the muscles.
Power- It refers to a person’s ability to transfer energy into force at a rapid pace also known as explosive body movement.
•Examples of power: •Doing the shot put in track and field•Jumping vertically to hit a volleyball•Throwing a baseball at a high speed
•Exercises to improve power: KettlebellSwings, Jumpsquats, weighttraining
ReactionTime- Relates to the time between one of your senses recognizing a stimulus and your body moving in response.
•Examples of reaction time:•Catching a ball when someone throws it to you suddenly•Swerving out of the way when something suddenly appears in your path•Sprinting as soon as you hear the start pistol in a race

Balance-refers to your ability to adjust your body position to remain upright
Power is a combination of both speed and muscular strength.
Coordination- Refers to a person’s ability to perform complexmovements due to the working together of the nervous system and the muscles of the body
•Examples of coordination:•Catching a frisbee while running•Dribbling a ball while moving•Jumping and hitting a ball
Exercises to improve coordination:

Balance example- yoga, singlelegbalance,lunges
•Examplesofbalance:•Being able to walk in a straight linewithoutveering to the side•Standing upfromsittinginachairwithoutusingyourhandsforsupport•Landing on both feet after jumping.
Balance- Refers to a person’s ability to maintain equilibrium when moving or when they are in a stationary position
