• How do signals exit the eye into the brain?

  Optic nerve carries bundles of fibres which exit the eye through the optic disk (like a cable)
• Why do we have a blind spot?

  There are no photoreceptor cells (rods & cones) where the optic nerve leaves the eye
• What do we see in our blind spot?

  Brain makes stuff up to fill it in, so it doesn't look like a black hole
