Quadrats and transects method A

• Use random number generator to obtain two numbers used as coordinates
• Set down quadrat at coordinates
• Count and record the number of required plant species in the quadrat
• Repeat steps 1-3 to find 9 more sample
• Estimate population size using equation total area ÷ sample area × number of plant species counted
