  • Pitting - seen with psoriasis
  • Half-and-half nails - nails that are white on the upper proximal half and pink on the distal half
  • Longitudinal ridging - parallel ridges running lengthwise.
  • Koilonychia - spoon-shaped nails that may be seen with trauma to cuticles or nail folds or in iron deficiency, anemia, or endocrine or cardiac disease
  • Yellow nail syndrome - grow slow and are curved, may be seen in AIDS and respiratory syndromes
  • Paronychia - local infection of the nail fold.
