  • Table of Contents
Includes information about the topics covered and the exact pages

A stand-alone summary that provides a comprehensive synopsis, written in a way that the document is sufficient by itself, briefly discussing the reasons for doing the research, the process/methods used, and the results
  • Introduction & Literature Review

Contextualizes the research for the readers, provides a bait that will draw them to read the report, includes the purpose of the research, a description of the problem, similar research that had been conducted before, and the general design of the method and the research hypothesis/theory that will be tested
  • Methodology
Answers the questions: How was it done? What was the process?
  • Results
Provides a concise explanation of what happened, including pictures, tables, and graphs and interpretation of the visual graphics
  • Discussion
Explains the results of the scientific research, answering the question: What do the findings mean? Explains their implications or what the report means in a larger context, with the interpretation backed up by actual observation and data, and acknowledges errors in the findings and what caused them
  • Conclusion
Should be brief but substantial, not longer than the Discussion section, linking the findings with the points raised in the Introduction and emphasizing the findings concerning the objectives
  • References
Provides information about all the references used in the course of the scientific research, in APA 7th edition format
  • Appendices
Include the documentation of the research experiment, with each picture labeled
  • Write the abstract only after you are done, as it will allow you to have a holistic view of your research so you can focus on important aspects- results and conclusion
