  • 1/3 did not have an over protective mother which is rather unconvincing evidence
• Ignores the role of genetics

  • focus on nurture - but there is strong evidence for biological factors
  • Heston - on the diagnosis 47 adoptees who had biological mother with schiz and 50 with non schiz mothers he found that 10.6% of the biological mothers with schiz children also had it were as 0% of the non schiz mothers were diagnoses
