Treatment of criminals

• In the old testament, after the Israelites have been freed from slavery in Egypt, they are told to follow the law
• In the new testament, Jesus shows the importance of treating prisoners kindly when he says people who visit prisoners will be rewarded in heaven

• Christianity believe that punishments should always have some mercy, said by Jesus
