North able to sue attritional tactics and blockade. Rifle musket gave advantage to defenders. No battle saw more than 100,000 participants- horses and cavalry still used as transport and in battle

Surprisingly little impact- war still lasted long- suggested economic power on its own wasn’t enough to secure victory. But capacity of North impacted outcome as gave them advantage to move troops and supplies quicker which helped win
