SQE is regulated by
Solicitors’ Regulation Authority.
To
qualify through the SQE route, candidates must:
Have a
degree
(or
equivalent

subject

Qualifying Work Experience
(QWE)
Show you are of
satisfactory character
and
suitability
SQE1 tests ‘functioning legal knowledge’ i.e. the
application
of law based on
realistic
client-based scenarios.
SQE2
tests the
practical
legal skills required for practice, including:
Interviewing
(with written attendance note taking/legal analysis)
Advocacy
Legal writing
SQE is only an
exam
