  • Missionaries lived among foreign colonies and learned the native language
  • Missions were a part of colonisation
• Modern Day- abroad

  • Support for missionary families financially and through prayer
  • May fund accommodation, food and general living costs
  • can be done by students
• Modern day- local

  • less conversion
  • more about outreach to local communities
  • charity work
