  • Energy - is the ability to do work.
  • There are two basic kinds of energy potential and kinetic
  • Potential energy - is energy that is stored in an object because of its position or state
  • Kinetic energy - is energy that an object has due to its motion
  • The different forms of energy are light, heat, sound, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and nuclear energy.
  • Light energy - is a form of electromagnetic radiation that you can actually see. It travels in a straight path.
  • Thermal energy - is a very common energy present in everybody due to the motion of its molecule. When a substance is heated, its molecules move rapidly and bump one another.
  • Sound energy - is produced by the vibration of matter. Any material that vibrates produces sound.
  • Electrical energy - is a type of kinetic energy produced by moving electrons. It may be static or current.
  • The transmission lines distribute the current to buildings and residents with lower voltage from 220 to 240 volts that are used to provide power to appliances, machines, and equipment.
  • Chemical energy - is stored in the molecules of matter. A change is necessary to transform chemical energy into usable form.
  • Nuclear energy or atomic energy - is a form of energy produced by nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.
  • Nuclear fission - happens when the splitting of the nucleus of elements with heavy atoms produces a large amout of energy
  • Nuclear fusion - is the opposite of fission. In nuclear fusion, combining two or more nuclei to form one heavier nucleus produces energy.
  • Thermonuclear refers to the high temperature required for nuclei to react.
  • The change from one form of energy to another is called energy transformation.
  • Simple machine is any device that makes work easier and faster by reducing the effort or force used in doing the work
  • There are three classes of levers. Each class has the falcrum, load, and effort at different position.
