Mitigation of loss is when the claimant is entitled to be fully compensated for their loss but the amount of damages should be reasonable.
Marcroft v Scruttons: The defendant failed to mitigate his loss. He was injured and refused to go to hospital. His injuries got worse. He couldn't claim because he let himself get worse.
