    • Fezziwig is filled with love and care - foil to scrooge.
    • Verb "called" - a time to spread joy and abundance of warmth - no immorality from Fezziwig.
    • Sematic field of wealth - despite having wealth and luxury still celebrates Christmas - knowing the true meaning - to share. This is what scrooge should be like. But instead there is a contrast. Despite being his apprentice, he absorbed no Christmas spirit from Fezziwig - he is trapped by wealth
  • Ghost P[S2] - "Yo ho, my boys!"
    • Possessive pronoun: sense of belonging and unity- treats them all like a family - sense of protection - equality
    • Use of the exclamation shows his jolliness and excitement.
  • Ghost P[S2] - "fuel was heaped upon the fire; and the warehouse was as snug, and warm, and dry, and bright"
    • Semantic field of generosity - he wants to provide charity for others. Warmth is symbolic of love
    • he wants employees to feel at home - contrast to how Cratchit is treated.
    • Contrast to description of school at Christmas to show Scrooge experienced both types of Christmas - only remembers one of them.
    • Fire Motif - Scrooge kept this physical warmth locked away - he doesn't want to give away his coal
    • Connotations of 'Warehouse - 'Are there no warehouses' - warehouses can be made nice.
