    Angel of mercy or sustenances who rewards those who have led a good life

    Reassures Muslims that mercy and rewards of eternal life are possible

    Izrail: Angel of death who takes souls from bodies when people die so they can enter the afterlife

    (Akhirah)- Soul will enter barzakh(a state of waiting until judgement day)-when they die their soul is taken by Azra’il (the Angel of death)-god sends two angels to question the waiting soul-if the questions are answered correctly then the soul is good and sleeps during Barzakh —> if not the soul is tormented by angels

    Paradise —> some believe it's a continuous journey to Allah

    Hell —>some say it's symbolic not literal —> all have a chance to go to heaven but those who ignore it go to hell but eventually everyone goes to paradise

    -feel fear so follow rules

    -hope that good will eventually prevail

    Place of fire and torment with switching fire pits and boiling water —>place of physical and spiritual suffering

    A beautiful garden with 7 layers (Adam and eve in the first and Abraham in the 7th)

    Idea that God has already decided everything that will happen in their lives

    - Allah gave humans free will, but he still knows what will happen because he is Al - Alim.
    - Nothing happens except the will of Allah
    - Free will is important to help people learn and to freely submit to Allah.
    - Giving free will means bad things can happen and that humans are responsible for their sin.

    They reject predestination, as they believe it contradicts judgement day
    It is not fair for Allah to punish or reward someone for something that he predestined them to do —> God knows what choices people will make but they still have free will to make these choices themselves

    Title given to a line of descendentes of Muhammad (12 of them all together)

    - go to imams for help (as they're the only people who can truly understand the Quran + shariah law)
