Main attackers, possess skills like jumping high, quick movement and adapting to different situations, need to be prepared for hits from variety of places
Opposite hitter
Need to be in perfect balance of both offence and defence, get a lot of opportunities in hitting the ball, jumping ability is vital to this role, have more defensive responsibility
Middle blocker
Tallest player on the team, main role is being the first line of defense against the opposing team's hits, need to be knowledgeable in reading the opponents' attacks
Libero
Defensive specialist, can only play on the back row of the court, the ideal person to receive a hit from the opposite team
