  • Audience – The person, or group of people, that the text is intended for. 
    Purpose – The reason why the text exists. This can be to inform, persuade, entertain, warn, advise or explain.
    Register – The degree of formality; it can be formal or informal.
    Diction – The choice of words in a text.
    Denotation – The straightforward dictionary definition of a word.
    Connotation – The feeling or attitude that we associate with a word.

  • Movement:Change in position, place, or orientation. 
    Respiration:All living organisms break down food to obtain energy.
    Sensitivity:The ability to detect and react to changes in the environment.
    Growth:Increase in size, strength and maturity.   Reproduction:The creation of more organisms.
    Excretion:The removal of waste from the body.   Nutrition:All organisms must take in food.
    Glucose:The water soluble form of sugar produced by plants during photosynthesis.

    Any point that is longer than it is wide
  • Tone
    A series of shades from dark to light made using a drawing tool to show shadows, depth and to make contrasts between objects in an artwork
  • Tone
    • To draw well, you need to show the light and dark areas on objects
    • This is done by using more weight or less weight on your drawing tool to create lighter and darker shades

    Pure colour. As you move around the colour wheel, you will be selecting different hues

    Adding white to a hue creates a tint

    The quality of a surface. It may be shiny, smooth, bumpy, prickly, etc. We can either change the physical quality of a surface, or we can use other elements, such as lines, to give the illusion of texture

    The arrangement of art elements to create stability in an artwork
  • Pattern
    Anything can be used to create a pattern. The rule is to repeat an object
  • Contrast
    Used to show differences, such as the difference between light and dark, or contrast in texture
  • Style
    The way in which something has been painted or drawn
  • Font
    The unique style and size of letters
