• consciense is an inner feeling about if you are doing right or wrong
• responsibility is a duty of care for or having control over something or someone

• 4 causes of crime - social , political , economic , psychhological
• civil crime - disputes between private individuals and groups , taken to small claims court
• criminal law - when state law has been broken, serious cases in the crown court and with jury service
• non inductable offenses are less serious - eg speeding
• indictable offenses are more serious - eg murder
• 4 aims of punishment - protection , retribution , deterrence , reformation
• reformation - chnagers an offenders attitude so there is no wish to offend in the future
• reparation - criminal compensating the victim
• protection - putting the criminal into prison
• detterence - putting an offender off repeating and commiting crime
• retribution - take revenge on the criminal and giving back
• "do not judge or you too will be judged" - matthew 7:1-5
• situation ethics - takes a situation before deciding what is right or wrong
• utilarianism - morally correct decision is the one which saves more people
